A Generous Donation from Bristol Bears

“SOS volunteers Richard Westaway(left) and Paul Beet are pictured with Gabriella Derrick of Bristol Bears at a recent, very generous, kit donation to SOS Kit Aid. Bristol have just changed their kit sponsors and so wished to find a good home for some old stock and make some room before the new Umbro branded stock arrived. As SOS always send such branded kit abroad there is no clash between the old and new sponsors.

May we thank Gabi again for her very kind donation - rest assured we will put it to very good use!“

A Big Thank You to Exmouth Rugby Club

Phil Forgham, the SOS KIT AID collector in Devon, would like to give a big “thank you” to Exmouth Rugby Club, and especially to Jan McCarthy and Roger Holman (pictured), for their donation of eight very large kit-bags of Rugby shirts, shorts, socks and balls.

The home of Exmouth RFC, known as the ‘Cockles’, is to be found in a beautiful setting at the mouth of the River Exe on Devon’s south coast. Their 1st XV plays in the South West Premier Division, and the club boasts a thriving senior section, Ladies team, Colts XV, and a popular Junior section for boys and girls from Under 5s up to the Under 18s.

We’re absolutely delighted to advise all our many supporters that normal service is being resumed! At the moment we are starting to collect kit again in ENGLAND ONLY due to differnet restrictions on th eother home nations. BUT WILL BE DOING SO BEARING IN MIND STANDARD DISTANCING PROCEDURES ETC. We are aware some rugby clubs have used lockdown to do some clearing out during the lockdown, so please, if you have, let us know and we’ll arrange a collection.

Borders are now open too - so next week we will be sending out three SOS deliveries to Hungary, Lithuania and Poland. We made zero deliveries in April and May but still hope to get as close to, or even hit our annual target of 40 big kit deliveries and with your help and invaluable support we will, so please keep donating kit.

Thank you as always on our behalf but also on behalf of all the thousands of young people around the world who are benefitting from your generosity.

SOS Kit Aid Pandemic May Update - All 2020 Golf Days Cancelled

As the pandemic carries on we hope you are all keeping safe and well. We have very reluctantly had to cancel our three 2020 SOS Golf Days this year and am sure you can appreciate that it is safety first in our book. Rest assured our highly successful SOS Golf Days will be up and running again next year for sure - watch this space !! Plus for obvious reasons we are not collecting any rugby kit at present, but again please keep the kit safe and dry and we will pick it up post pandemic as soon as we can. We have a target of 40 big SOS kit deliveries to make this year and although, like many other charities, we have lost substantial sponsorship money we will try to get as close as we can to our target by year end.

Thank you for all your continuing support - SOS will be back soon and we hope it will be business as usual as quickly as possible. Our disadvantaged youngsters around the world still need us(and our kit !)
