Whilst we donate tons and tons of used rugby kit and equipment to teams around the world, one thing that doesn’t recycle well is a rugby ball. Used rugby balls are typically worn out, have lost their grip and unplayable.

So, we have teamed up with W RUGBY, a premium rugby ball label operating out of the UK and Australia, to provide brand new rugby balls to teams who need them most.

W RUGBY are leaders in rugby inclusivity and have pioneered a grassroots rugby program called Project: Won for Won, where for every ball sold, they donate another to grassroots clubs, schools and communities around the world.

W RUGBY founders Dovy Cornerford and Andy Lewis said, “Forming a partnership with a well-established charity such as SOS Kit Aid which has already done so much for the rugby community around the world will help us take Project: Won for Won to the next level. It means we can have a greater positive impact on young people playing rugby globally, giving back to grassroots where it’s needed most.”

SOS Kit Aid CEO John Broadfoot added, “It’s important to choose a partner that not only delivers a fantastic, premium rugby product, but also holds social responsibility as a key brand value.”

This year W RUGBY have provided SOS Kit Aid with rugby balls that were shipped to Lithuania, Bolivia and Paraguay. Stay tuned for photos!

If you are a rugby club who struggles to raise funds for rugby equipment, join Project: Won for Won on their website. For those who want to help grassroots grow, get yourself a brilliant new W RUGBY ball; and we’ll ensure a second ball will be making its way to young rugby players around the world.
