The United Kingdom celebrates rugby with children in Mali. As part of International Day of the Girl the Embassy of the United Kingdom in Mali, in partnership with the Malian Rugby Federation, recently donated rugby equipment to the Anges Noires schools in Bamako and the Torokorobougou Rugby School.
This kit, donated by the British organization SOS Kit Aid, aims to promote; inclusion, leadership, and team spirit, through sport.
Rugby is an iconic sport in the United Kingdom and embodies universal values; respect, solidarity, and courage. This gesture takes on a special significance as England recently hosted and won the Women’s Rugby World Cup.
The presentation was followed by a friendly match between the Anges Noires de Bamako and the Torokorobougou Rugby School, illustrating the direct impact of this initiative on young people.
The presentation was made by Angus McKee, British Ambassador to Mali.
