A big welcome to Andy Vick, who joins the SOS Kit Aid Team

We’re delighted to welcome a new member of the SOS Kit Aid Team, as Andy Vick joins us.

Andy will be managing all kit donations for Wales, so he’ll be extremely busy! He is based in Mid Glamorgan, ten miles west of Cardiff.

Here’s some facts about our new team member

As an avid fan of rugby, Andy is perfectly placed for this role.  His love of the game stems from watching many weekend local club games with his uncle.  And, he has been fortunate to travel to New Zealand and Australia to follow the British and Irish Lions.

Andy is a retired Police Officer, and served just over 30 years in the Police Force.  He worked on his local home-turf, but spent the majority of his service in the Metropolitan Force in London.  This presented many opportunities to watch more rugby, taking advantage of all the grounds which were in the vicinity.  He retired back in 2007, when he emigrated to Cyprus to live.   He did however continue to return to the UK for the many Six Nations and Autumn International matches.

August 2019 saw Andy return home to Wales.  So, as well as being able to get out and watch live rugby again, he has been able to maintain his other interests of driving, playing social golf, catching up with old colleagues and friends and Guinness!!!!

Andy said, “I’m really excited to join the team.  I’ve seen the great work that SOS does, and the impact that it has on disadvantaged young people.  I’m hoping I can help make a difference, and drive kit donations up for this region.”
