We are proud and delighted to announce that our Charity’s founder and CEO, John Broadfoot has been awarded an MBE in the King’s Birthday Honours List.

John is shown pictured with Sir Bill Beaumont, one of rugby’s most respected figures.

This special recognition acknowledges John’s determination, hard work and forward thinking and has been awarded for services to developing rugby around the world.

John said, “I’m absolutely thrilled and amazed to be receiving this award, which I’m accepting on behalf of the Charity. We rely on volunteers, sponsors and partners to keep it all going, and I’d like to say a huge thank you to all of those who have supported us on our journey since we set up back in 2001.” John went on to say, “What we have achieved, and continue to deliver is more important than ever before. Our focus remains on inspiring young people and changing lives, but at the same time helping to protect the environment, which we all know is critical and should be on everyone’s agenda.”

SOS Kit Aid are supported by a variety of partners, sponsors and Ambassadors including World Rugby, who have been involved since the Charity’s inception over 20 years ago. Special personal thanks go to Sir Bill Beaumont, Greg Woods and Jaime McKeown, at World Rugby, who have all been a huge support over the years.

This year’s list is the first from King Charles III for his official birthday in June, and John’s award is amongst those figures recognised for their contributions across sport, entertainment and public service.
