One of our volunteers, Phil Forgham, met up recently with Exeter Chiefs’ Star, Tom Hendrickson, and he was very keen to donate a large bag of his kit!

Tom was born in New Zealand, with a Kiwi father, and Cornish mother (from Newlyn). Tom was 5 years old when he came to Cornwall, and at aged 7, began playing for the Penzance-Newlyn minis. He then went on to become a part of the Exeter Chiefs Academy set-up, and finally a member of the Exeter Chiefs first team squad.

As a strong midfield runner, Tom debuted for the Chiefs in November 2013, featuring in a LV Cup Win over Harlequins. Since then, he has made 87 appearances for the Chiefs, and has been an important part of the Exeter Chiefs success in recent years.

After 10 years with the Chiefs, Tom is now heading out to Osaka in Japan, to play with some of the best players in the world.

Phil said, “We are very grateful for the donation of kit from Tom, and would like to wish him every success in his new challenge”.
